Northern Brazil windsurf tour - on a budget
From £1,250 ppThis is one of the best-value windsurf trips we run, combining two of the very finest windsurfing spots in all of Northern Brazil in a single ten-day adventure. It's built for riders who want to keep a lid on the budget without compromising for a second on quality — world-class wind, brilliant conditions and genuinely great spots, at a price that works. You start in the legendary Jericoacoara, one of the most reliable wind destinations on the planet, then move on to the remote, laid-back beach break at Maceió for a completely different, chilled-out flavour of the same coastline. Two spots, two moods, one unforgettable trip. And it's all taken care of. Every transfer is included — from Jericoacoara Airport in, the leg between Jeri and Maceió, and back out to the airport at the end — so all you have to think about is the wind. Just turn up and ride.

Pantanal + Amazon + Beach
From £4,000 ppIf you want to experience the very best of Brazil’s wildlife and natural landscapes, combining the Pantanal with the Amazon is an ideal choice. The Pantanal is the country’s top location for spotting jaguars, while the Amazon offers an extraordinary immersion into the world’s largest tropical rainforest. Spending around three nights in each region gives you enough time to enjoy their highlights, with the necessary overnight stops in Manaus on either side of your Amazon tour. After exploring the inland wilderness, we can take you to one of several windy coastal areas in northern Brazil. For this itinerary, we recommend Icaraizinho, a charming seaside village that offers excellent Wingfoiling, Kitesurfing and Windsurfing all in one easy, relaxed location.

Northern Brazil - Jericoacoara + Maceio + Parnaíba Delta + Atins
From £2,495 ppNorthern Brazil is where the wind blows almost every day and the coast never stops changing. Over sixteen days this tour links four of the northeast's best riding spots, from Jericoacoara, the windsurfing and wing foiling capital of Brazil, west through Maceió and the wild Parnaíba Delta to the flat-water lagoons of Atins. Partway through, the Parnaíba Delta breaks up the riding with something extraordinary off the water: a rare open-sea delta of more than 75 islands, freshwater lagoons and mangroves, alive with scarlet ibises, caimans and capybaras and best seen on a sunset boat trip. The tour finishes with the ultimate experience of Atins and the Lençóis Maranhenses.

Everything people ask us before booking their first — or fifteenth — windsurf holiday.
Where should I stay for a windsurfing holiday in Maceio +
Is Maceio good for beginners or is it more for experienced windsurfers? +
Maceio suits intermediate to advanced riders best. Conditions shift with the tide between flatter water and small waves, so some prior experience helps you get the most out of it.
Is Maceió suitable for a non-windsurfing partner or family? +
It can work, but it's worth going in with the right expectations. The atmosphere is very sport-focused and sociable among the windsurfing crowd, and accommodation on the beach is more basic than family-oriented. If a non-windsurfing partner wants a higher standard of comfort, the property 15 minutes away is usually a better fit.
How windy is Maceio, Brazil? +
What's the best time of year to windsurf at Maceió +
July through to the end of November is the most reliable window for wind. You can find good conditions a little either side of this, but these months are the safest bet.
Do I need to bring my own windsurf equipment to Maceio? +
No — there's a well-equipped windsurf centre on the beach with good-quality gear for hire, which is one of the main reasons we rate this spot. Worth confirming exact equipment availability for your dates when you book.
Is Maceio (Ceara) the same place as Maceio, the city in Alagoas? +
No — this is a common mix-up. Maceio Beach near Camocim is a small fishing village in Ceará state. The city of Maceió, capital of Alagoas, is a much larger destination further south and isn't a windsurf spot in the same way.
