Days 1–4

Rio de Janeiro

5* Copacabana Palace Hotel Breakfast
A perfect introduction to Brazil, this 3-day stay in Rio de Janeiro blends iconic sights with relaxed beach time before your main adventure begins.

You’ll take in highlights such as Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the vibrant neighbourhoods of Copacabana and Ipanema, with time to enjoy the city’s famous beaches, great food, and lively atmosphere. It’s an easy, exciting start that combines culture, scenery, and a touch of Rio’s unique energy before heading on to the next stage of your journey.
About Rio de Janeiro +
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most exciting and visually dramatic cities in the world, known for its long golden beaches, forest-covered mountains and a lively, colourful atmosphere. It suits visitors who want a mix of nature, culture and vibrant city life, with days spent outdoors and evenings filled with music, good food and warm Brazilian hospitality.

Your experience in Rio depends significantly on where you choose to stay. The beach districts such as Copacabana and Ipanema offer the classic Rio feeling but can be busy, lively and at times a little gritty. They are full of energy, beach life and restaurants, but they are not the cleanest or calmest parts of the city. Travellers who prefer something more peaceful often choose Santa Teresa, a charming hilltop neighbourhood with colonial houses, quiet streets and creative cafés. It gives you a much more refined and relaxed experience while still being close to the main sights. In a large and mixed city like Rio, it is always worth spending a bit more on a high-quality hotel. Good hotels here offer better locations, stronger security, higher service levels and a far more comfortable overall stay, which makes a noticeable difference.

There are five unmissable experiences that every visitor should consider.
  • A trip to Christ the Redeemer is essential, not only for the statue but for the spectacular views stretching across the entire city.
  • Sugarloaf Mountain is equally impressive, reached by a beautiful two-stage cable car ride that gives you a front-row view of Rio’s coastline.
  • The beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana offer a perfect taste of everyday Carioca life, with people playing sport, swimming, and enjoying the sunshine from morning to sunset.
  • A visit to the historic streets of Santa Teresa and the colourful Selarón Steps brings you into the artistic, bohemian side of Rio.
  • A tour of the Tijuca Forest allows you to step inside one of the world’s largest urban rainforests, filled with waterfalls, wildlife and shaded hiking paths.

Days 4–9

Brazilian Amazon

5* Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge Full Board
A 3–4 night Amazon experience, with an overnight in Manaus at the start and end, offering a seamless gateway into the rainforest.

Choose between a remote Amazon lodge stay or a private river cruise, both providing immersive wildlife encounters, guided jungle activities, and access to this extraordinary ecosystem. The private cruise option is especially ideal for families or small groups seeking a more exclusive, flexible, and luxurious experience.
About Brazilian Amazon +
Getting to a rainforest lodge in Brazil usually begins in Manaus, where small boats or seaplanes take guests deep into the jungle. The journey follows winding rivers lined with towering trees, their branches filled with birds, butterflies, and the occasional movement of a monkey leaping through the canopy. The further you go, the quieter it becomes until only the sounds of nature remain.
The lodges are designed to bring comfort without disturbing the beauty of the forest. Built with natural wood and open to the fresh air, they offer spacious rooms with soft beds, elegant furnishings, and large windows that let in the sights and sounds of the jungle. Many have private pools, outdoor showers, and wide balconies with hammocks, perfect for relaxing while watching the river or the treetops. Meals feature fresh, local ingredients—tropical fruits, just-caught fish, and flavours inspired by the region.

Guests can explore the rainforest through guided trips led by experienced locals who know the land and its wildlife. Morning boat rides drift through mist-covered waters, where pink dolphins surface and exotic birds call from the trees. Daytime walks through the jungle reveal giant trees, hidden waterfalls, and tiny creatures that blend into the forest. Canoe trips take guests through flooded areas where the reflections of the trees create a dreamlike world. In the evening, night safaris offer the chance to spot glowing insects, silent owls, and even caimans resting along the riverbanks. Some lodges also offer visits to small local communities, where people share their traditions and knowledge of the rainforest.

Jericoacoara

4* Hurricane Hotel Breakfast
After your time in Rio and the Amazon, continue to Jericoacoara for a 7-night stay focused on windsurfing or wingfoiling in one of the world’s most reliable wind destinations.

Fly north from the Amazon with a short onward transfer into Jeri, where you’ll enjoy consistent trade winds, flat-water lagoons, and a relaxed, beachside atmosphere. It’s the perfect final stage of the journey—combining world-class conditions with laid-back luxury and plenty of time on the water.

About Jericoacoara +

The wind here is without a doubt some of the most reliable in the world, especially the last half of the year, when the wind continuously blows like crazy. So if you like strong wind this is worth considering.  What was once a small fishing village is now a bustling lively place with many posadas, small bars and restaurants. During high season this location can get very busy so it is not for everyone. In recent years there has been a hand full of very good accommodations catering for a more discerning client.

So if you are looking for a destination to provide non-stop sailing and a lively atmosphere Jericoacoara is perfect for you!
