In the afternoon proceed to the site of the most famous of all sites, the 4,500 year-old pyramids at Giza. The Great Pyramid is the only survivor of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" as well as being the site of the legendary Sphinx, thought to have been built to guard the entrance to the Pharaoh's burial site.

Day Three - Visit the Egyptian Museum, home to an unparalleled collection of Egyptian artefacts with over 120,000 objects within 107 halls. Some of the most celebrated treasures, including a gold mask, gold sarcophagus and throne, are those taken from the tomb of King Tutankhamun. Next, you'll head into Islamic Cairo and the Al Azhar Park, a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city, created for the citizens of Cairo by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. From the park you'll head to the Citadel, a magnificent medieval fortress perched atop limestone cliffs, high above the city. Spend the rest of the day exploring the citadel's mosques and museums before continuing to the Mosque of Sultan Hassan - renowned for its rich decoration and grand architecture - and Khan El Khalili reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Here you'll have the chance to practice your haggling skills as you shop for everything from woodwork and glassware to leather goods and perfumes.
