Why we rate this centre

This is a really great windsurf and wing foiling centre in Langebaan, with friendly service and atmosphere, right on the very best spot on the lagoon. There is an impressive shop leading out to the rental area and then onto a great grass area to rig on and also a place to sunbathe out of the wind for the family. There is a great lookout platform and restaurant where you can see a great deal of the lagoon and watch all the action.

The windsurf center has reasonable stock of recent boards and sails to satisfy most windsurfer enthusiasts, but this centre does not have huge number of the newest high tech gear. A good range of Sea Kayaks and paddle boards are also available for rental, which is very popular on the lagoon for the rare no wind days.

This must be one of the best flat water windsurf and wing foiling location in the world! The centre is based a 10 minute stroll away from the main kitesurf area, so this spot is mainly for wing and windsurf only.

If you are a Wing Foiler, or what to learn to Wing Foil, it really does not get much easier than Langebaan Lagoon! The centre has a good range of Fanatic WingFoil boards and Levitas Wings. Lessons are carried out directly in front of the centre in near perfect flat water conditions.

For anyone who has never tried windsurfing before, during this windsurf course, you will learn the very basics of Windsurfing. This includes how to lift the sail up from the water to your first rides in both directions. Groups are rarely more than 6 people.

Your course includes board, sail, wetsuit, life jacket and insurance.

Never been on a board but feels like the water and wind are calling your name? In the beginner course, you will learn the basics, such as how to stand up on the board, how to go upwind, and the basics and theory of jibing and tacking. You will understand the directions of the wind and gradually will gain confidence on the water! Introductory lessons typically take place either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the wind conditions.

If you really want to progress as quickly as possible, or feel that you could really benefit from a private instructor, this is the best you can get. Have a highly experienced Wing Foiling instructor take you all the way from total beginner, to up and riding 'on the foil'. Sessions are generally 2 hours each (can be longer if you are very fit and willing), including full equipment (wetsuit, board, wing, foil). Most schools use radio helmets or teach from a boat/jetski. For a total beginner, we recommend a minimum of 8 hours, ideally 10 hours, to get you to a level you can practice.
