Resort Hotels Centres Map Wind

The centre is situated on the beach in front of the Natura Park Beach Resort (see resort map) on the north east coast of Kos Island. This area is called Psalidi and it is well known for windsurfing and the Meltemi, the strong north/northwest wind which is blowing side/side off from the left, almost every day during the summer season. Kos is perfectly positioned facing the coast of Turkey which is only 15 km off of the centre, although we would not recommend you attempt the crossing! This creates a funnel effect on the Meltemi as it is squeezed between the two coastlines giving a stronger localized wind effect.

The centre has a very friendly, family feel to it. It’s a well equipped and organized center and operates a fixed board system. The boards are kept in the Beach Hut 5m from the waters edge, where the surfers hang out between sessions to discuss their moves and tactics!

All amenities are on site, including: wireless Internet, surf shop, toilets and showers, swimming pools, free beds, umbrellas, kids playground, kid's club, restaurants, bars, supermarket, volleyball and tennis.

For anyone who has never tried windsurfing before, during this windsurf course, you will learn the very basics of Windsurfing. This includes how to lift the sail up from the water to your first rides in both directions.

Your course includes board, sail, wetsuit, life jacket and insurance.

upto 6-8 students in the water. We will schedule your course to start on your first full day, but you must remain available to the school to work around local wind and sea conditions, as well as instructor availability.

Daily rental of boards, rig and sails. Most centres will 'fix' your ideal board size to ensure availability, but you have access to all available equipment. It is important to pre-book your windsurf rental as part of your holiday to be sure of availability, especially over the high season periods. Rental can only be used on consecutive days. Please note that local prices can be significantly more expensive than pre-booked prices.

  • Rental can only be used on consecutive days.
  • In the case of no wind, most centers will allow you to use other sports equipment, such as: SUP and Surf boards.
  • Equipment insurance NOT included. Please check your travel insurance, or most centres will offer a local insurance (approx Euro 45/ week)

    For windsurf rental of equipment, you may be required to produce a VDWS/IKO/RYA or equivalent licence to prove your ability to rent (For Egypt this is mandatory, and if unable to provide you will need to do a skills test and pay for a licence locally)

For rental of equipment, you may be required to produce a VDWS/IKO/RYA or equivalent licence to prove your ability to rent (For Egypt this is mandatory, and if unable to provide you will need to do a skills test and pay for a licence locally)

For safety reasons all our courses are given with the schools rental material. They don‘t take any responsibility for private material nor change the prices when using private material. *The number of participants per course and instructor is max. 4 people. The duration of a course-day is 3 hours. With fewer students the duration of the course will be reduced accordingly. It is possible to book up to two lessons per day. In the group courses, the two students always share one equipment.

This includes how to use the wing and foil - to your first rides in both directions. Private lessons are 1-1 / Semi-private lessons include only two people and ensure fast progression.
