The centre has been run by Sweetie and Ollie for as long as people can remember. These guys love what they do and are dedicated to making sure their guests are always having a good time. Without fail, they will ensure you are taking the correct equipment for your aim and level, and that it has been adjusted precisely for you so that your time on the water will be as speedy, comfortable and progressive as you hoped.
The centre is located on the beach side of the main town, and is the furthest centre up-wind and away from the lunchtime restaurant crowds. The local surf shop is situated just behind, which stocks all the latest lines from popular surf brands. It also sells everything from SUP boards to spreader bars. Next to the centre is a restaurant with a really tasty and diverse menu, which also makes the best fruit juices in town!
Above all, the real beauty of this place has to be the amount of sports you can do! The centre is incredibly lucky to be able to offer kitesurfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, and surfing, each at a world-class standard.
Cabarete is ideal if you have kids, there is no shore break, and small natural lagoons, so the kids don't miss out on all the water fun! There are Kids Summer Camps which let your kids try out windsurfing, sailing, boogie boarding, SUPing, all along with a variety of other fun beach games.
The best spot for learning to windsurf is the bay where the centre is situated. A reef, upwind of the centre, protects the area from waves. This is a major advantage when you’re learning, trying to progress, or after those epic freestyle sessions! Wave novices and experts alike can head out on a reach to access the wave spot on the outside reef.
Windfoil rental and private or semi-private lessons are also available in Cabarete.
