Perched on a ridge in Rui Vaz with spectacular views, Quinta da Montanha is right in the heart of the mountains and an excellent base for walking and exploring. The quinta has a total of 28 comfortable simple en-suite rooms, of which 10 are in the main house and 18 newer rooms can be found in the annex. Some have balcony views of the valley.
Due to its remote location, dinner is included which is often buffet style and also popular with the locals. Most of the fruit and veg used in the restaurant is grown in the nearby terraced gardens.
There are several good walks in the area, but to get the most out of them we recommend using one of the local guides. A great place for spotting birds of prey and kingfishers. As it's in the mountain, the evenings can be cool, so don’t forget to bring some warmer clothing with you.
