Tour Highlights

This exceptional suggested tour combines Gostoso Windsurf, Kitesurf and Wingfoil resort (or any of our coastal resorts) with a few days on the little-known Fernando de Noronha island (a protected volcanic archipelago of 21 islands and islets off the northeastern coast of Brazil) and the iconic city of Rio.

Days 1 - 6

4* Gostoso Luxury Boutique Hotel

Breakfast

The trip starts or finishes with your chosen beach resort. For this suggested tour, we will begin with 5 nights in Gostoso, around a 2-hour road transfer from Natal airport. Gostoso is perfect from October to March with very reliable wind. if you are travelling between June and December, you can choose from one of our many spots further North.

Gostoso

Named The newest star of Brazil, Gostoso is a true gem to the world of windsurfing and we think one of the best windsurf locations in the world! Located in the region of Rio Grande Do Norte, and just over a one hour transfer from Natals International airports.

A windsurf holiday to Gostoso offers a rare combination of incredibly reliable wind, beautiful accommodation and amazing value for money. The local people are very charming, and welcoming to windsurfers, kiters, and surfers. Violence is non-existent here, and the pace of life is really calm. The town of Gostoso is changing a lot with wind tourism growing every year with new small very good restaurants popping up. There is a range of very good quality hand picked accommodations with the windsurfing either directly on site or just a short walk away.

When planning a windsurf holiday to Brazil it is especially important you get the best advice on the appropriate accommodation and windsurf location for your budget and skill level. As with a lot of destinations, there tends to be just a hand full of really good quality accommodations and windsurf centres. Planet Windsurf are Brazil specialist having travelled extensively around the coast of this amazing country. Please call us for expert advice and we will do our best to make sure you get the best windsurf holiday to Brazil.

Days 6 - 9

5* Pousada Maravilha

Breakfast

Today you will travel to Fernando de Noronha by plane from either Recife or São Paolo, depending on the best connection for your travel dates. You may need to overnight in one of these locations to catch early departures for the island.

Fernando de Noronha

Fernando de Noronha is famous for its untouched beaches, crystal-clear water, and peaceful, natural atmosphere. It suits travellers who love nature, sea life, and a relaxed, low-key experience rather than busy nightlife or large resorts. The whole island feels calm, safe, and exclusive, with a strong focus on sustainability and environmental protection. Fernando de Noronha offers a unique mix of extraordinary nature, world-class beaches, fantastic snorkelling and diving, and a very tranquil island lifestyle. It is a place to slow down, enjoy the ocean, and experience one of Brazil’s most exclusive and environmentally protected destinations.

For scuba divers, it is the best place in Brazil, with visibility reaching up to 30–40 metres on good days. Sea turtles, dolphins, rays, and a plethora of colourful fish are commonly seen. Fernando de Noronha is also perfect for hiking, with scenic trails leading to cliffs, natural pools, and hidden bays.

You get excellent restaurants with fresh seafood, but nightlife is limited, meaning the focus is very much on days spent in the sea, exploring viewpoints, or simply enjoying the beaches.

The island enforces visitor limits, and everyone pays an environmental preservation fee, which helps keep the island pristine. Public transport is simple, so most visitors hire buggies or use taxis to explore. The general atmosphere is peaceful, romantic, and ideal for couples, divers, adventure lovers, and anyone wanting unspoiled nature. Families enjoy it too, although the calm, protected beaches and limited activities mean it appeals more to older children or adults looking for a relaxed escape

Days 9 - 12

1* Santa Teresa Hotel Rio de Janeiro

Breakfast

The last stop on that suggested tour is the iconic city of Rio. Your flight from Fernando de Noronha will route via São Paolo.

As with any city, we always recommend a half-day guided tour to get the best from your experience. Other full-day or half-day tours can be easily arranged via your hotel's concierge, or booked in advance as part of your holiday if preferred.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most exciting and visually dramatic cities in the world, known for its long golden beaches, forest-covered mountains and a lively, colourful atmosphere. It suits visitors who want a mix of nature, culture and vibrant city life, with days spent outdoors and evenings filled with music, good food and warm Brazilian hospitality.

Your experience in Rio depends significantly on where you choose to stay. The beach districts such as Copacabana and Ipanema offer the classic Rio feeling but can be busy, lively and at times a little gritty. They are full of energy, beach life and restaurants, but they are not the cleanest or calmest parts of the city. Travellers who prefer something more peaceful often choose Santa Teresa, a charming hilltop neighbourhood with colonial houses, quiet streets and creative cafés. It gives you a much more refined and relaxed experience while still being close to the main sights. In a large and mixed city like Rio, it is always worth spending a bit more on a high-quality hotel. Good hotels here offer better locations, stronger security, higher service levels and a far more comfortable overall stay, which makes a noticeable difference.

There are five unmissable experiences that every visitor should consider.
  • A trip to Christ the Redeemer is essential, not only for the statue but for the spectacular views stretching across the entire city.
  • Sugarloaf Mountain is equally impressive, reached by a beautiful two-stage cable car ride that gives you a front-row view of Rio’s coastline.
  • The beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana offer a perfect taste of everyday Carioca life, with people playing sport, swimming, and enjoying the sunshine from morning to sunset.
  • A visit to the historic streets of Santa Teresa and the colourful Selarón Steps brings you into the artistic, bohemian side of Rio.
  • A tour of the Tijuca Forest allows you to step inside one of the world’s largest urban rainforests, filled with waterfalls, wildlife and shaded hiking paths.
