Our Windsurfing centre in Tarifa offers both windsurfing rental and tuition, and also kitesurfing tuition. Depending on which direction the wind is coming from, they either teach windsurfing at the beach "Dos Mares", on the left side of the Hurricane Hotel, or at the beach of "Valdevaqueros". All students booked in for lessons have a free shuttle service.
They do offer kids instructions in the Hurricane centre when the conditions are suitable. Tarifa is ideal for those who can either water start already or are keen to learn, as the choppy conditions can make up hauling tricky especially on small boards. The instructors are all experts and love passing on their knowledge and experience, so you can master the strong Tarifa winds.
They offer Unlimited Starter, Progress and private lessons. The spot is suitable for windsurfers who have already reached water-start level, as there may be some rocky patches near the beach.
The water is flat or choppy during summer, bigger waves (2 m) can be found in autumn and spring. Shorebreak is only possible with onshore wind (Poniente). Close to the shore is a small wind shadow but once you‘ve crossed it, the Levante (cross offshore) can be surfed nicely. As there are stones on the beach and in the water, we recommend wearing surf shoes. Both centers offers tapas bars with ample space to relax. During the whole season you can switch between the two centres whenever you like.
Starting from Spring 2018, Tarifa will offer Windfoil rental and private or semi private lessons.
