Sorobon Hotel In Bonaire

Sorobon Beach Resort is located at Lac Bay, an unique natural bay in the south east of the friendly and sunny island Bonaire in the Caribbean Sea. Sorobon Beach Resort offers a unique private sandy beach, complete with shady cabana’s and beach beds.

The shallow bay is protected from the ocean by an astonishing coral reef that makes the bay very suitable for swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing. The resort is only 6 miles (10 KM) away from Bonaire’s International Airport and 9 miles (14 KM) from the city center of Kralendijk, the capital of Bonaire.

Sorobon Beach Resort consists of 28 one bedroom chalets, 1 two bedroom chalet and 1 large house (the Cas Grandi) that accommodates up to 7 people. The accommodations are situated in two half circles and are not more than 150 feet (50 meters) away from the private beach.

Two one bedroom chalets form one building and all of the rooms have a breathtaking view over the bay with its colorful live both above and below the surface. All chalets are equipped with air conditioning and have all amenities one should expect. All chalets also have a full kitchen. With the exception of the Cas Grandi, all units are located on the ground floor. The Cas Grandi has a top floor which can be reached by stairs. There are no elevators.

The one bedroom chalets offer a queen size bed in the bedroom and basically are suitable to be occupied by one or two adults. However, in the living room, the sofa can act as bed as well. The units are spacious enough to add an roll away bed as well, which allows a maximum capacity of 4 persons (an additional charge for the 3rd and 4th person is applicable). The bathroom offers a shower, basin and toilet. A small refrigerator is available in the kitchen as well as a cooking device. There is no television in our accommodations, this is policy of the resort. The tranquility of the location and the breathtaking views will more than compensate this. However the resort is equipped with wireless high speed internet which allows guests to stay up to date with developments in the world. All accommodations are non smoking.

The restaurant “The Sugar Bird” is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served buffet style and the culinary staff prepares a variety of lunches and dinners. Our lunch menu offers different salads, pasta’s, classic burgers and different sandwiches. The restaurant offers a international dinner menu with a touch of Caribbean and Oriental influences. We are famous for our steaks and fresh fish.

Also vegetarians are offered a brought choice and if guests have a special diet, the staff will certainly take that in consideration.

Once week, a barbecue is organized and this is very popular with our guests. The restaurant’s opening hours are between 8 and 10 AM for breakfast, 12 – 2 PM for lunch and 6 – 10 PM for dinner.
