Mauritius Recognised As A Safe Destination

Mauritius is actively preparing to welcome back tourists and travellers very soon. Everything is being done to ensure that the best sanitary conditions. Since April 26, no local cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Mauritius. This prompted the government to remove sanitary containment from May 31. This success of the most popular tourist destination in the Indian Ocean is to be attributed to the government, which, as of January, launched a series of measures following the evolution of the pandemic situation in the world. After the gradual closing of the borders, the application of strict containment measures, and isolation of the sick, followed by intensive contact tracing and tests, the country is now going to another phase while waiting to welcome its first visitors soon.

This island destination offers a variety of fantastic windsurfing spots, with our absolute favourite being the epic waves and flat water lagoon at Le Morne.

Portugal Is Calling

Airlines are showing their confidence in returning to Portugal with a number of companies confirming flights to the country from this month or early July, including EasyJet, Ryanair and British Airways. No quarantine will be imposed for travellers arriving in Portugal. The country has been a pioneer by publishing a best practices guides for tourism companies as well as a national clean and safe campaign with hygiene protocols and procedures to protect visitors, staff and locals.

European Best Destinations just ranked Meia Praia beach in Lagos, Algarve, one of the 10 safest beaches in Europe for travellers to enjoy their summer. A number of criteria resulted in this decision including a low level of COVID-19 in the region, long and wide beaches allowing for a good distance between each traveller and the proximity of hospitals and availability of hospitals beds in the region. A fantastic windsurfing centre, matched by an equally amazing hotel can be found at the Martinhal Beach Resort. Ideal for families and couples, the Algarve offers a great active getaway with a wide range of activities on offer!

In addition to the Algarve, FeelViana Hotel in the North of Portugal has reopened to receive guests from the 1st of June 2020, also launching DOVENTO, their new restaurant. In a relaxing setting, nestled next to the Cabedelo pinewood and beach, FeelViana is a truly unique place. In addition to amazing windsurfing, the hotel promises walks by the sea, lush green mountains for hikes and bike rides, family fun, dreamy balcony sunsets and seasonal and local honest food. The wind (vento, in Portuguese) brought the team of FeelViana to Cabedelo in 2017. Their restaurant reopens with the name DOVENTO, a new concept, a new menu and, of course, a new décor, all waiting for your visit. At the heart of the menu are the fresh vegetables, seasonal products, local fish and good quality meat.
