BonaireSorobon Luxury Beach Resort is located on Bonaire, just off the coast of Venezuela. It is a small, charming Antillean island known as a diving destination; however, its diverse nature offers much more than that. Being a ‘Blue’ destination, Bonaire prides itself on its nature preservation initiatives and incredible fauna.
The Sorobon lagoon is part of Lac Bay, a lagoon protected from the ocean by a vast coral reef on one side and a large mangrove forest on the other. The resort has a private beach with shaded cabanas and lounge chairs. The shallow bay is protected by a coral reef and is ideal for swimmers, snorkelers, Windsurfers and Wingfoilers (there is no Kitesurfing allowed in Lac Bay.)

One of the typical obstacles in learning to jibe is maneuvering that board around into waterstart position again after you blow it. Just like the beginner having to uphaul after taking numerous plunges, it's way too tiring. Not in Bonaire. That shallow water is a blessing. Working on your jumps and chop hops? Go a little farther out into the bay and there are superb little wind swells off which to fly. Trying to sail faster? Pick a line along the outside reef where the water is dead flat and learn to pressure your feet, rake your sail and get your harness lines dialed.

Andy Brandt is the windsurfing guru behind ABK BoardSports. ABK prides itself on providing the best windsurfing instruction in a friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere. The camps are designed to incorporate education, fitness, relaxation and fun. ABK promises a windsurfing adventure. The ABK method relies on extensive video feedback as an important component in the comprehensive instructional program. Daily videotaping sessions allow you to analyse sailing techniques with the instructors. In addition, footage of ABK's instructors provide you with closer-up examinations of correct methods.
