1. The flights are super easy

There are a number of great flight options from London, Paris and many other cities worldwide directly to Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius. For cheaper flight options you can also fly via Dubai or Johannesburg and use the extra saving to add on a few days holiday in South Africa and Dubai. There is also only a few hours time difference between the UK, central Europe, and Mauritius – making it a great destination if you want to avoid jet lag.

2. Go in September for the best value for money

While there is great windsurfing in Mauritius from May right through to December, the month of September is the best time to go if you want great value for money. The wind is super reliable during this time, the weather is fantastic and it coincides perfectly with low season hotel prices – offering the best of all worlds!

4. It’s a great place to learn to windsurf

The flat water lagoon at Le Morne is the perfect place to learn to windsurf. The whole lagoon is surrounded by a reef, which is 600 metres off the beach, thus providing a vast safe area of shallow water where you can hone your skills. There is also a stunning all inclusive luxury resort, namely the St Regis, right next to the beach, offering the perfect place for non-windsurfing family members and friends to relax.
